The Eye Center has provided outstanding eye care for Northern Virginia communities since 1989. Our reputation is unsurpassed in both regular eye care services and surgical procedures, and as well, we have been leaders in the field of laser surgery. Our LASIK program provides unparallel professionalism, follow-up care and guidance.
|Renata Raeder, O.D.|
Dr. Raeder graduated from The Elms College where she received a bachelor degree in biology. She received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She interned at The Eye Institute of Philadelphia and Bethesda Naval Hospital.
Dr. Raeder works extensively with pre and post-operative refractive and laser surgery patient management. She also practices comprehensive family eye care, including contact lenses, and management of ophthalmic disease.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Virginia Optometric Association. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Northern Virginia Optometric Society Executive Board. She has completed licensing requirements and received certification to practice from the boards of optometry in the commonwealth of Virginia and the state of Maryland.
|Russell Pearlman, O.D.|
Dr. Pearlman graduated summa cum laude from Widener University with a baccalaureate degree in biology. He continued his education at the Pennsylvania college of Optometry where he received an additional bachelors degree and his Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical honors. He interned at the Philadelphia Naval hospital, Lakenau hospital and Wilmington Omni eye services. He then completed his residency at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
Dr. Pearlman has been practicing in the northern Virginia area since 1992. He has specialized in comprehensive family eyecare and the medical management of eye disease. He has extensive experience in contact lens and pre- and post- operative ophthalmic surgical care including the latest laser refractive procedures. Dr. Pearlman has lectured and been published on a wide variety of ocular topics and has enjoyed a role as clinical instructor for residents affiliated with the State University of New York's College of Optometry.
He currently is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association and the Northern Virginia Optometric Society. He has completed licensing requirements and received certification to practice from the boards of optometry in the commonwealth of Virginia and Pennsylvania and the state of Maryland.
|Nicole Teser, O.D.|
Dr. Teser graduated from Salisbury University on the eastern shore of Maryland with summa cum laude honors and a bachelor degree in chemistry. She completed her postgraduate education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where she earned an additional Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Optometry degree. She has interned throughout the east coast including Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, and northern Maryland. She completed an additional residency in the treatment and management of ocular disease in Havre de Grace, Maryland, affiliated with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She has also served as a clinical investigator in studies for dry eye and corneal disease.
She provides comprehensive eye care including contact lens fittings and management of ocular disease. She participates in pre and post operative refractive surgery care and provides follow up for patients having undergone cataract surgery.
She has completed the licensing requirements and received certification to practice optometry in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the state of Maryland. She is currently an active member of the American Optometric Association.
|Diem Nguyen, O.D.|
Dr. Nguyen graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular Biology. She completed her post graduation education at The New England College of Optometry receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree. She interned at South Boston Community Clinic in Boston, White River Junction VA Hospital in Vermont, Newport Naval Base Hospital in Rhode Island, and Northampton VA Hospital in western Massachusetts.
Dr. Nguyen specializes in pre and post-operative refractive surgery care. She also performs comprehensive eye care, ocular disease management, and cataract post operative care.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association and the Northern Virginia Optometric Association. She has completed licensing requirements and received certification to practice from the boards of optometry in the commonwealth of Virginia.

|Rana Taji, O.D.|
Dr. Taji graduated from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada with her bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences and also a Masters in Vision Science with an emphasis on low vision rehabilitation. She went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University.
Her internships includes the Veterans Affairs hospital in Columbia SC, a multi O.D./M.D. practice in Elkhart, Indiana and a multi O.D. practice in Ontario, Canada. She has presented at several conferences, participated in publications, and is currently a clinical investigator in multiple FDA clinical trials.
Dr. Taji's specialties include pre and post operative care for refractive and cataract surgery patients. She also provides for a wide range of eye care needs from ocular disease to contact lens fitting.
Her optometric affiliations include being an active member of the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry. She has completed licensing requirements and received certifications to practice Optometry in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
